Seisenbacher strengthens its leadership position as total interiors supplier by starting up in the US and winning its first American contract
After several months of market entry planning and site selection, Seisenbacher has found a new home on American soil and is establishing its new production plant in Rochester, New York. This new US manufacturing facility will be fully operational in October 2016 and covering the entire value chain similar to its Austrian parent: metal processing and forming, bonding, and assembly of final products and integrated rail interior systems.
To successful completion of it US start-up mission was topped by winning the first contract for US rail interiors supplies: Seisenbacher Rail Interiors will be manufacturing and assembling luggage racks and ceiling systems for Stadler’s TEX Rail Project (for Fort Worth, Texas).
Starting in January 2017, Seisenbacher’s US factory in Rochester will be supplying interior solutions to the Swiss rail car manufacturer, Stadler, who recently established its US plant in Salt Lake City, Utah. Seisenbacher will be equipping 8 trains which will be running between Fort Worth, Dallas City Centre and Fort Worth Airport. An option for a further trains of the same type is still be awarded once the first set of trains has been shipped.
Seisenbacher is contracted to perform the design and engineering of ceiling systems and luggage racks, will be working to optimize manufacturing processes, perform manufacturing and assembly of the ceiling systems which include LED lighting, side covers, center pieces and air ducts. Similarly, Seisenbacher is also responsible for the design and production of luggage racks. Both products are based on Stadler’s FLIRT Commuter Rail platform, a platform that Seisenbacher is already familiar with on the European market.
